Choosing the Typeface For College Essay
Choosing the Typeface For College EssayWhen choosing a font for college essay, the choices available are endless. And the limited attention spans of the student lends itself to a question of choice. However, if you're like me, or even more like me, you will want to start with the typeface. There is something about a typeface that lends itself to consistent usage in essay writing. If you spend a lot of time looking at pictures and icons online, you know just how many different fonts are available. In contrast, we only see photos of letters a few times. So we trust what we see.The problem with this idea is that search engines are littered with results from bad typefaces. Many students like to get this done first, because they're so used to all of the fonts available on the web. Unfortunately, most of these fonts have sloppy spacing and sometimes, poorly chosen letters. This makes the reading of the text difficult and sometimes, unintelligible. On the other hand, there are many quality fo nts available. But they are hard to find and difficult to get used to. These fonts tend to be fairly expensive, too.Which typeface to choose is often a matter of taste. What is your personal style? Do you prefer bold and strong fonts? Or do you like fonts that are more understated?I tend to go with a font called Verdana because it's not the most popular choice. However, I know that it works well for a lot of different types of material. Of course, this could also mean that I use the typeface as a placeholder, to get used to the actual font.In fact, I also went with a typeface that is less popular. It's called Times New Roman. I did this so that I would get used to typing in this brand of font, to see how I would adjust to it.Once I was used to the typeface, I discovered that it was quite pleasant to read. So I went with this typeface. It looks a bit different, but I prefer it a lot better than Verdana. It's more accessible, and I can type faster with it.
